Passages I, 2012

Passages I at Hamiltonian Gallery, Washington, D.C. was inspired by the distinct geometric light forms I noticed repeatedly while on the road in China and Western Europe. Illuminations enlivened a flat surface or void to become evanescent portals to imaginary spaces. Light forms are captured in a series of digital photographs. These Travelogue photographs capture fleeting light from far-flung places such as the Great Wall of China and the 2011 Venice Biennale, ILLUMInations. These disconnected destinations share a tenuous tie through the phenomenology of light.
