Please join us for a screening of 3 films at Vika Kino Movie Theater, Ruseløkkveien 14 in Oslo, Norway on Monday June 1, 2026 from 6-9pm:
- Invisible Visible 未见之见 by Joyce Yu-Jean Lee
- Hong Kong: Silent City by Antoine Vedeilhe
- The Art of Inflation by Brett Wietecha & Tim Hedberg
Joyce Yu-Jean Lee’s documentary short Invisible Visible 未见之见 tells the artist’s story facing censorship while producing a new media artwork exposing the limits of internet freedom.
In 2016, Lee first exhibited an interactive artwork, FIREWALL Cafe, which allows audiences to see side-by-side comparisons of image search results from Google in the U.S. with Baidu in China.
When Chinese officials intervened to prevent a Chinese human rights lawyer from participating in the project in New York City, FIREWALL Cafe attained media attention and critical art prominence. Lee’s documentary traces the battle against censorship abroad with curators, journalists, hacktivists and writers raising awareness of China’s growing international influence in geopolitics, technology, and cultural dissemination.
